When we started to pick the idea for our project we knew it had to be volleyball because we all are on the team for San Marin. We started working on our project 3 weeks ago. We first started filming us passing the ball around and taking slow motion videos of us hitting the ball. After we filmed outside Mr. Irish (a PE teacher) allowed us to play/film with his class in volleyball because during the time of our project the PE classes were practicing volleyball too. We got a ton of stuff done when we filmed. Later we made all of our calculations. We started making the video on Imovie, and since i used to make a ton of videos on imovie before, it was easy to get everything started. I was usually the person making all the edits and putting it all together. After we successfully finished our video we published it on youtube.
Equations:
Velocity of ball from passer to setter: V=3.012 m/s Velocity of arm passing ball:V=4 m/s Elastic collision on your arm and the ball: V=7.012 m/s Horizontal and vertical velocity of ball: X=4.95 m/s Ball in the air: D=13.5 m What your arm does: W=1.8262 J Force of your arm on the ball: F= 0.3652 N
Reflection:
I absolutely loved my group. We worked well together and this project was so much fun! We got to do a project about volleyball and that is one of my favorite sports . We were all very close(as friends) so we had a great time everyday working together. It was hard because we always would get off task, and we would not get things done. Finding the physics were fun because they weren't too complicated, but sometimes it took awhile to make a perfect pass. I also liked how we got to have free time to go around campus filming. When i was younger i use to make videos so it was great to have another moment of making videos. This is a project i will never forget!:)
