The goal for our project was to think of some idea/solution that will help with a current world problem. In the group I was in with Madi Jones, Matthew Lozovoy, and Parker Spencer, we developed an idea to save the water from rainfall and energy from the sun. We wanted it to be invented for a natural disaster, like a drought or a power outage. Right now in the town I live in Novato, CA we are in a drought. Our design was a house with a gutter that then was connected to a filter dispersing it to a tank. On the other side of the house there was a solar windmill that was connected to a box that had two large batteries. The water will be used if we ever were in a drought and needed water either it was for drinking or bathing. The batteries will be used for storing energy in case there is a bad storm and there's no electricity.
How it Works: Our house was decorated like a Christmas house since it was near the holidays, and it was made out of a box. We first made a base for the solar windmill, and connected it to a box on the side of the house. We then took a tube and connected it to the house. After we bolted into the box we found a connector tube calling it a filter which lead to a third tube into the tank. When ever the sun hits the panel on the solar windmill it goes into the tubes underground.
